Making an offer on a vessel involves considerable time, effort and expense. While you may not be committed to completing the purchase, you are obligated to pay for hull and engine surveys, a short-haul, and fluid analysis, along with flights, hotels, rental cars etc. In many cases, when I’m asked to conduct a Pre-Purchase Inspection I quickly come to the unfortunate realization that the vessel is either not as it was advertised, or it’s not what I or my client anticipated it would be.
Before embarking on this journey, it’s important to be reasonably confident that the vessel you’ve set your sights on will survey well. The SDMC Pre-Offer Review affords you that peace of mind. Steve will spend from an hour to a day aboard a vessel while dockside or hauled, reviewing her overall condition, systems and state of upkeep and repair; you can accompany him or remain comfortably at home. After he’s completed his review Steve will share his thoughts, and help you make a decision as to whether or not you should proceed with the offer. Pre-Offer Review fees begin at $3,800.00 plus travel expenses. Call or email us for a quote for the vessel in which you have an interest.
