Making an offer on a vessel involves considerable time, effort and expense. While you may not be committed to completing the purchase, you are obligated to pay for hull and engine surveys, a short-haul, and fluid analysis, along with flights, hotels, rental cars etc.  In many cases, when I’m asked to conduct a Pre-Purchase Inspection I quickly come to the unfortunate realization that the vessel is either not as it was advertised, or it’s not what I or my client anticipated it would be.
