Sea Trial Evaluation

Using a 50-point checklist, SDMC sea trials consist of a thorough underway evaluation of a vessel, from handling characteristics and operation at a range of rpm and loads, through wide open throttle, to dynamic and static analysis of engines, thrusters, steering, motor mounts and running gear.  Specific engine parameters are measured, including a range of temperatures, from exposed dry and wet exhaust components, to stuffing box, crankcase oil, transmission, air inlet, hydraulic fluid, coolant, alternators and others.  The typical sea trial requires approximately three hours and ideally includes a segment in unprotected waters in order to properly test stabilization, handling and steering.  Upon completion of the sea trial a detailed, photo-documented report is provided.  Sea trial fees begin at $3,800.00 plus travel expenses.  Call or email us for a quote for your vessel.
