Fire Detection and Prevention
Fire remains the single greatest risk to those cruising and living aboard. If your vessel floods and sinks you can take to a life raft. Fire, however, is different; it can spread very rapidly, and the smoke and poisonous byproducts it generates can kill, or render you unconscious, before you have time to escape. Don’t take a chance, make sure you and your vessel are prepared.
In this 90-minute, photo intensive and interactive webinar, marine industry consultant Steve D’Antonio, will educate attendees on a range of fire related subjects, including…
- The most common sources of onboard fires
- The lithium ion battery issue
- Risks associated with electric heaters and how to mitigate them
- Smoke and heat detection, what type to use, and where it should be placed
- How to avoid being trapped; egress, confirming and testing your routes
- How an electrical fire threat analysis is conducted
